So this is quickly becoming a Christmas tradition of mine, and admittedly - I can’t take full credit for it, since it’s truthfully a Chex Cereal MUDDY BUDDIES recipe !

But here’s what I’ve been making the last two years; what started as an easy holiday kid snack, has turned into party-munchies, and even great as a holiday giveaway to friends & family!

INGREDIENTS

  • 9 cups Chex™ cereal (I use corn, but you can also use a mixture! Rice, chocolate, wheat, and even PB Chex are great! )

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (I also use almond butter)

  • ¼ cup butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 1 cup M&M's™ (red and green)

HOW TO:

  1. In large bowl, add cereals; set aside.

  2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High for 30 seconds at a time; stirring in between each time (usually about a full total of 1 minute + 30 seconds) Stir & heat until completely smooth. Stir in vanilla.

  3. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.

  4. Pour 1/2 of mixture into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

  5. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated.

  6. Spread on waxed paper to cool completely (**admittedly - I don’t do this step, I just transfer into my large cookie storage container)

  7. Stir in M&M's™ LAST (that way you can see their colorful glory) Store in airtight container.

ENJOY!
