hi, I’m CLAIRE!

I’m a wife, mom of two, work part time, and balance working out with all the foodie things I love! I’m a self-proclaimed Type B+, who thrives on structure, routine, plans, and FUN! I’m obsessed with bright colors, sparkles, memes, and Friday night pizza.

I originally started this page as a place to have a fun creative outlet early on in my baby-raising days. I started THE COLUMBIA MOM summer of 2022 realizing that I wished there was an account that showcased all the things I loved & wanted I one place: restaurants, where to find the best donuts, places to take my kids, and highlighting some of my favorite businesses.

What started originally as a fun passion-project, has truly grown, and gained not only community traction, but local business support as well.

I am truly excited to be sharing more of my Columbia + Howard County passion!

Giving BACK

At TCM, we are passionate about giving back to our community. Here’s a few of the amazing businesses that we love to support.

  • Zachary Lederer was diagnosed with brain cancer at 18 years old, for the second time in his life. He was a UMD freshman, and basketball manager. After one of his brain surgeries, his dad snapped of photo of him “ZACHING” - to show the world he was strong, courageous, and to give HOPE.

Born and raised in Howard County, the Lederer family started the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation is a local nonprofit that raises money to go towardThe Little Things Program, scholarships, internships, donations to cancer research, and outreach organizations.

  • Blossoms for Hope is a local nonprofit that serves to enhance our quality of life through beautification projects and support for our community; cancer-related, mental health and other causes can be seen in many ways throughout Howard County.

  • Cupid's Undie Run is an annual event held in various cities around the world, around Valentine's Day weekend. It's a charity fun run where participants strip down to their underwear and run a short distance, usually about one mile, to raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation, which supports research into neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.

The event is known for its festive atmosphere, with participants often wearing themed underwear, costumes, or accessories. It's a lighthearted way to support a good cause while having fun with friends!
