Christmas CRACK Howard County Mom Recipe
So this is quickly becoming a Christmas tradition of mine, and admittedly - I can’t take full credit for it, since it’s truthfully a Chex Cereal MUDDY BUDDIES recipe !
But here’s what I’ve been making the last two years; what started as an easy holiday kid snack, has turned into party-munchies, and even great as a holiday giveaway to friends & family!
INGREDIENTS
9 cups Chex™ cereal (I use corn, but you can also use a mixture! Rice, chocolate, wheat, and even PB Chex are great! )
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup creamy peanut butter (I also use almond butter)
¼ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1½ cups powdered sugar
1 cup M&M's™ (red and green)
HOW TO:
In large bowl, add cereals; set aside.
In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High for 30 seconds at a time; stirring in between each time (usually about a full total of 1 minute + 30 seconds) Stir & heat until completely smooth. Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
Pour 1/2 of mixture into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated.
Spread on waxed paper to cool completely (**admittedly - I don’t do this step, I just transfer into my large cookie storage container)
Stir in M&M's™ LAST (that way you can see their colorful glory) Store in airtight container.
ENJOY!
