I’ve always loved an excuse to spend a day outdoors with the family—and Books in Bloom is one of my favorite annual events for doing just that. Whether you're a lifelong reader or just looking for a fun and inspiring way to kick off spring, this free literary festival in Columbia, MD checks every box. From author talks and book swaps to wine, food, and kid-friendly crafts, it’s the perfect blend of community, culture, and creativity.
The ninth annual Books in Bloom returns to Color Burst Park on Saturday, May 10, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet. Here’s everything you need to know to plan your visit.
