2023 Howard County Camp Guide

I’m going to be honest, when it came time to start picking camps for my kids I was so overwhelmed. The waitlists, the options, the locations and all the different times. I wanted to share with other moms & dad’s out there the camps in the area and other’s that came highly recommended to me.

  1. Kids on Campus program offers summer enrichment education for youth ages 6 to 17 in areas such as STEM, creative arts, test prep, and more! Our college campus setting is the perfect location to present engaging programming right here in the heart of Howard County. Classes include morning and afternoon programs, running June 26 to August 17. Supervised lunch, before care, and after care are also offered.

  2. Bricks 4 Kidz camps engage students both educationally and creatively through hands-on building with traditional and technic LEGO® Bricks and elements! Building projects may include standard and motorized models, creative design, group builds, mosaic pattern building, games and more. All materials are supplied, and in some cases, allow students access to exclusive, specialized, and hard to find LEGO® products they might not otherwise be exposed to. Students will be divided into small groups with similar aged children working on projects targeted to their building ability.

  3. Howard County Parks and Rec offers hundreds of camps throughout the summer to choose from. They offer nature camps, acting camps, baking camps, dance camps and so much more. They range from part time to full time for a week to a couple of weeks. I know I will definitely be looking into the princess camp for my daughter! Their full list of 2023 camps can be found here.

  4. The Y offers many enriching camp programs between our day, overnight and specialty camps. Serving tons of kids and teens in the area while offering a great first job for young adults, our camps teach young people how to be more independent and contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. The camp guide can be found here.
